Today for science Mrs. DeCrane took 3rd grade outside to experience the magic of the Ginkgo Tree. They have been learning about different types of living things and their life cycles. An amazing detail about the Ginkgo Tree is that it loses all of its leaves in a day or less. The kids were very happy to get to see it happen and experience it!

Due to the weather we will be doing a shortened parade route. Our route will be:
(1) Students will walk out the West Entrance onto 3rd Street
(2) Students will walk on 3rd Street
(3) Students will then walk on the Locust Street Sidewalk
(4) Students will enter the playground, and go directly into the school
We ask that parents line up on either side of Third Street or on the grass or by the cars on Locust Street. We will not be having parents on the playground as I want to get students into the school quickly.

Trenton Rosenow and Olivia Thompson were chosen by their teachers to be representatives of PES at the the Illinois Principal Association Leadership Breakfast. Both students were chosen due to their outstanding leadership both in and out of the classroom.
What their teachers had to say about their character:
"Trent is a positive leader who leads by example in everything that he does, and is someone that his friends can truly count on. Trent is a hard worker and a friend to all, and wants to make sure everyone is included. He gives 100% in and out of the classroom. "
"Olivia is one of the most kind and thoughtful students at PES. She goes out of her way to care for those around her, and make sure they are included. She leads by example in all that she does, and a friend to all. "

Thank you to our Campus students as they came over and helped with Service Day today at PES! Everyone worked hard to improve our school and our PES students loved having the 7th Graders here!

Today we had a special award given to an amazing teacher! Today, our very own Mrs. Noord was chosen as a recipient for the Jenn Banks Marigold Award. Mrs. Noord was nominated by Mrs. Bealer. Congratulations to Mrs. Noord on this very special award, as it was well deserved for her contributions over many years of service to our students, families and community! We here at PES are very lucky to have her! Congratulations Mrs. Noord!
