We are experiencing some issues with our phone system at this time. We are working on it - however if you call district office, it will go directly to voicemail. At this time the buildings are still able to receive calls as they come in, so please call the building directly:

Dear Families,
With the excessive heat today, we understand that some parents may prefer to pick up their children from school rather than have them ride the bus. If you plan to pick up your child, please notify the office of your child's school as soon as possible.
Please also be aware that the reduced number of students riding the bus may lead to earlier drop-off times at home than usual.
Please take note of the changes to athletic practices and rescheduling of golf and cross country meets.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Sincerely,
Heidi Lensing, Superintendent

Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico CUSD #3 Families,
I want to update you on the serious motor vehicle crash involving our students that has shaken our community today.
It is with great sadness that I must inform you that three children have passed away. These students attended PLT Middle School and PLT High School.
Our district is committed to doing everything we can to help our students with the grieving and healing process. To that end, we have activated our crisis counseling team to be at PLT Middle/High School (38 Ferry Street, Prophetstown) tomorrow, Friday, March 29th beginning at 9:00am. There will be counselors, social workers, and area ministers present to support our community.
This loss will affect everyone in our school family and in the Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico Community. Students may have a difficult time dealing with the loss, and we encourage you to talk with your child.
At this time, the district will not be releasing the name of the student out of respect for the privacy of the families.
Sincerely,
Heidi Lensing, Superintendent

We are limited in what we can say at this moment and will be providing more information as it becomes available. Please keep everyone involved in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Heidi Lensing, Superintendent

Calendar Updates:
One version of our calendar online was incorrect. We do have school on Monday, February 12.
There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 19 - Presidents Day.
Additionally, with the 5 emergency days we have taken - the last day of student attendance is Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Good morning! We will start at regular time this morning.
Start at 8:00/8:20 - students dismissed at 11:30/11:50.
Dear PLT Families,
I am continuing to monitor weather updates issued by the National Weather Service. There is a chance of continued poor weather conditions that may impact us tomorrow morning. If we are able to start at regular time in the morning, we will continue with our half day student dismissal. If we need to delay the start of school, we would cancel the scheduled early out and have students in school until regular (full day) dismissal time.
In review:
If we start at 8:00/8:20 - students dismissed at 11:30/11:50
If we start at 10:00/10:20 - students dismissed at 3:00/3:20
I appreciate your understanding as we navigate the Midwest weather conditions that have been thrown at us this month.
Heidi Lensing
