Tampico Elementary School
Nestled in the southeast corner of Tampico, TES has a wonderful campus to educate our 200-plus students. With kindergarten through third grade, we serve Tampico and Deer Grove area students much like a community or neighborhood school. We also serve as a district attendance center for both fourth and fifth grades. Our new classroom wing gives modern amenities. Being a former high school and middle school location, we have a large field which we often utilize, especially in physical education classes.
TES staff members give their all to provide a safe, student-oriented school where we emphasize accountability on ourselves for providing rich educational experiences and for students to meet academic expectations. We use a positive behavior program, ROCKS, which aligns with the PBIS framework, that we have developed in concert with Prophetstown Elementary School to make their students transition to Tampico smoother.
TES offers programs in special education, remedial reading through our Title 1 program, speech/language therapy, daily physical education, fifth-grade band, K-5 vocal music, K-5 technology and counseling. In each classroom, we dedicate a large part of the day to literacy instruction and math. We are also proud we are able to provide highly qualified and effective staff to implement this instruction.
