We did it!
Tampico Elementary School set a lofty goal, to see if we could collect at least 1,000 items for the local Food Pantry in only 2 weeks. Students and families were more than up to the challenge as we collected 1,117 items, led by Ms. Hagan's 5th grade class, who collected over 300 items!
Several 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students helped throughout the Hunger Drive with keeping the boxes in the classrooms accessable, counting inventory, and sorting and packing everything. The competition stayed close until the very end with several classes in the running for top winner, who will receive a class Popcorn Party.
Thank you to Mr. G's Grocery in Prophetstown for all of the boxes to help with the competition and all of the students, families, and teachers for working hard to make this a success. |
