Well, you made it through the quest! I hope that you have learned a lot about the art of reappropriation...how the function of an object can be transformed in such a way that something beautiful and meaningful is created. While many will look at the efforts of these artists as intricate creative endeavors, others will choose to look at them as simply frivolous. It will make some question what art really is. It will awe and inspire others.
As you have seen, these artists are not simply junk collectors or enviromentalists, they are creating metaphors and stories about culture and societies. And yes, they are pushing the boundaries of what has generally been defined as art! If it were not for artists like these, individuals who transform and create objects the likes of which we never imagined, the art world would surely stagnate.
