Facilities Review 2007
Facility Concern Priority Summary

DISTRICT PORTABLE CLASSROOMS

Four portable classrooms are a mainstay at the Tampico Elementary.

One portable classroom is used daily at the Prophetstown Elementary.

DISTRICT SUB GROUND CLASSROOOMS

All computer and Media Center classes are held below ground level at the Tampico Middle School.  Water, moisture, mold and fire issues are daily student safety concerns.

Music classes and Building Library services at Prophetstown Elementary are held in sub ground rooms.  Daily student safety concerns involve water, moisture, mold and fire.

Prophetstown High School music classes are held below ground level and experience the same student safety concerns of water, moisture, mold and fire.

ELEMENTARY PLAYGROUNDS

Play areas surrounding the play equipment areas would greatly benefit from rubber mat installations and improved play equipment.  These installations are expensive but will greatly provide improved safety for our children.

EDUCATIONAL CLIMATE CONTROL

The new education facilities could be equipped with improved climate control providing an improved learning environment.  Many of our facilities with window concerns and inadequate temperature control would be eliminated.  Climate improved learning environments will enable children with allergies and other respiratory concerns to find comfortable learning possible at school.

ROOF CONCERNS

Roof materials daily age in our district, a large number of our roof replacement needs are coming up in the near future.  The lifetime of a roof is expected to be a maximum of twenty years using the materials currently found in our district.

DISTRICT SECURITY

Security in all of the District facilities is constantly a concern and the upgrade of our facilities would greatly enhance education life for our student population.
